Hi Trinity,
I reached out to our HIM Core Team to get some answers for you (response below.) I hope this helps, please feel free to ask follow-up questions as needed.
Katie
We do use msg/task for deficiencies and coding questions.<o:p></o:p>
I don't know that we find it super difficult, but yes a lot prints. The nursing notes and pharmacy information can be a lot of pages, and the pharmacy stuff is duplicated. One has the charges and one does not. I don't personally have a problem figuring out what happened with the patient from documentation in the Echart, but I am wondering what it is specifically they have a hard time with? In case we have any suggestions?<o:p></o:p>

What information are you using your Message/Tasks for? Incomplete records?
Also, do any of you that are using Meditech find it difficult when printing the Echart for legal reasons? Our attorneys are finding it very difficult to use the printed record for depositions and court cases. Do you struggle with the same thing - the chart not "telling the story" as well as a two day visit printing out as a 300 or more page record?

Hi Karla,
Are you familiar with messaging and tasks in Expanse? Specifically, I am wondering if other facilities archive messages/tasks to eChart and include the information in their legal record or designated record set.
Thanks in advance for your help! It is good to locate another facility on Expanse!

We will be going to Exanse next year. I'm very happy to have other Meditech users to network with and if possible, I would like to connect to other Expanse users as well.
Thank you,

Hi Karla,
Are you familiar with messaging and tasks in Expanse, or do you have a contact at your facility who would be wiling to have a quick discussion? Specifically, I am wondering if other facilities archive messages/tasks to eChart and include the information in their legal record or designated record set.
Thanks in advance for your help! It is good to locate another facility on Expanse!

Hi Kim,
We have been a Meditech hospital for quite some time now. I have used Magic, Client Server and now Expanse. I miss the ability to use those shortcut/function keys as the amount of clicking has already caused three surgeries in my department. We are having a big problem with our physician query process with Expanse. I would say it is no better than Client Server or former versions. Providers do not love the web-based version and have not yet found any time saving or benefit to Expanse.
Thanks,
Karla

Hi Kim,
We are Meditech 6.15,we used to be Magic, which is the platform that really leveraged those function keys. You can still use F9 for a look-up in 6.15 or you can use your mouse to trigger a look-up. I believe Meditech is only selling their Expanse product now and it's web based. We are planning a migration to Expanse next year. I agree with Glenda, it is worth seeing a demo of the new product that they offer. The integration between all the different modules is extremely beneficial.
