    FYI -- In case you missed it, WEDI is seeking healthcare providers, patients, payers to get experiences with telehealth services since the beginning of the COVID pandemic.  WEDI is also seeking input from HIM staff on Administrative Automation/Simplification.  

    WEDI is conducting this survey to gather input from health care providers, patients, and health care payers on their use and experience with telehealth services since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Information from the survey will be reported as a compilation of data and no individual responses will be identifiable.

    After more than 20 years of effort following enactment of HIPAA and related rules, the industry continues to experience administrative burdens and the associated costs associated with a reliance on manual approaches to the exchange of health information. A critical look at where we are in advancing administrative simplification and where we should be is required to meet current and future health care challenges and opportunities.


    This brief survey is intended to obtain a wide range of perspectives and data to inform steps that can be taken to accelerate the reduction of healthcare administrative costs and burdens while improving care and outcomes. The survey findings will be presented in an aggregate, de-identified, form at an August 6 session of the WEDI Forum, to launch a national conversation on the topic. Our primary goal is to advance practical plans and action steps for achieving results.
