Provider suspension question

Curious how other facilities are handling this issue.  If a provider document/dictates a suspendible deficiency on day 30, are you than giving  them 14 days to sign before suspension?
    • IE- IF THEY DICTATE ON DAY 30, DO THEY GET 14 DAYS TO SIGN

Please let me know if i need to clarify more.

    Thank you,
    Carol

No - 30 days total from the date of discharge.

Do you follow this same procedure when a deficiency is declined and than reassigned to a new provider?  Are you still going by the 30 day rule?

Hi Carol:  We actually have our delinquency policy stricter than 30 days.  In fact, most of our dictate/missing documents are delinquent on day 3 after the assignment.  Our signature delinquency is 8 days after the assignment.    We are rarely non-compliant w/ a 30 day completion time period.

In answer to your second question,   If a provider deficiency has been declined by one provider and assigned to another provider - we give the new provider the same time period, e.g., 2 days to complete and he/she will not be suspended unless they fail to complete by day 3.

    Hope this helps.
