Use of photographic devices by patient or family

    Greetings,

With the common use of phones as recording devices, our HIPAA Committee is reviewing our facility policy on the use of photographic devices in patient care areas. I was curious what other facilities allow or restrict regarding video recording. Anyone willing to share their policy is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

I am also interested if anyone has a policy. We allow pictures and those pictures have to be part of the legal record but nothing on smart phone recording or a policy.

    Thanks,

    Karla

Here is one that we're still trying to work out final details before implementing. We have purchased signage to add to areas at our facilities.
