Late last year, when Congress passed its final spending package, it included language requiring the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) to submit a report to Congress that evaluates the effectiveness of current methods in identifying and matching patients to their health information and to recommend actions that increase the likelihood of accurately matching patients to their health data.
