If a patient comes in for out patient surgery for a tubal ligation (58670) and the surgeon has to also lysis some omentum adhesions (58660) in order to get to the area of the tubes would I code both procedures?  My encoder is giving me an edit for the cpt 58660.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!!!

I found this link to an AAPC article that I believe pertains to your question.

Depending on the time and effort involved, lysis of adhesions might be billed separately. CPT® includes a number of codes dedicated to lysis of adhesions (categorized by location).
