    SNF rehab Pt admitted with Osteomyelitis of T4-T8 with pathological compression fracture to T5 and epidural abscess. Pt s/p decompression laminectomy with wound vac for osteomyelitis and abscess. I have the osteomyelitis and epidural abscess coded but not sure on the compression fracture .

    I would suggest M84.68XA (path fx in other dz other site) for the pathological fx due to osteomyelitis.

    Since patient is in rehab, I would use subsequent encounter.  Since the patient has a wound vac, I would lean more toward the subsequent with delayed healing.  Any other thoughts out there?

    My bad - agree with Nelda.  The SNF rehab encounter would be coded with 7th character D if healing routinely.
