I was recently asked if I was credentialed in coding for Rural Health or Critical Access and after doing some research of this specific coding credential I have discovered there is one but I have never heard of it prior to this week. Does anyone know anything about credentialed Rural health and CAH coding credentials? I have been fairly consistent in requiring AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials in our facility because I believe they have much value, I am leary of credentials outside of those because I believe there are a lot of programs out there that I consider "get rich quick coding schemes" that do not offer much value for your education dollar. I am just wondering if anyone has this credential and what value if any you feel it may bring to your facility. I have a new CFO at our facility who asked about this rural health clinic coding credential and I had never heard of it - just wanting some input here as to the value. The only association I could find is
Association for Rural & Community Health Professional Codingare there any others?
