When a patient has an out patient surgery and a drug is given by infusion prior to or after surgery such as ancef, ofirmev, gentamicin and morphine are these drugs included in the surgery global package or should I be coding the infusions separately?

    Thanks in advance!!

No - any administration that occurs as a result of or for the surgical procedure is considered integral to the procedure performed.  The drugs (J codes) are all separately reportable however the administrations are not.
