Does anyone know how to get the book for the self reviews.  They are now available.  But I do not see the booklet for it

I just saw in Advantage that they were available. I only see the review booklet for 2016 and 2017 on the website. I was able to "purchase" the review and it says it's available. I much prefer using the booklet to answer the questions first.

Another strange thing I noticed is that the 2016 review says I can "take it now" even though I took it in 2016 and the results are there.

Janet - same thing happened to me.  I "purchased" the 2017 self review test, yet the 2016 displayed to test.  I made several calls/emails before I finally obtained response - which helped to get correct test in queue.  I sure didn't want to waste time (re)taking the wrong test.

I called AHIMA, today.  CR told me that the 2018 tests should be available to print next week.  I did 2017 last year without the print outs, and it was difficult to do.

I just posted a similar question. So sorry! I didn't see this. Do we know where the 2018 booklets are?

    Thank you!

Do not fear! : ) Several other Coders have been asking the same question.
The 2018 Annual Self Review downloadable PDF Booklet "should" be posted sometime this week per AHIMA Customer Support.

They should be posted here: Look on the right side of that web page.

This is required by AHIMA to keep our respective credential. Plus, we earn 5 CEU's which count toward the 20 we need for each recertification cycle. It's 25 multiple choice questions. It's a Self Review to see how you're doing with your Coding knowledge. I don't think you can "fail" it.

You do need to go to the AHIMA Store and "purchase" the 2018 CCS Self Review (its free). You can search for it and add it to your shopping cart.
2018 Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Self Review
    Product #: CCSSR18
    Category: Self Reviews
    CEUs Awarded: 5

After you "buy" it, it will appear in your personal profile/account. Go to your CEU Center and it will appear in red and say "available."

Personal tip: Download the PDF Booklet, print it out, get your code books out, answer the questions at your convenience (circle your answers), and when you're all done, go back to the CEU Center and click on the Self Review. Answer the questions online from your paper sheet and hit submit when you're down. It will show you which questions you got wrong and the correct answer to each question will be shown as well. I got 3 incorrect last year and got a 88%. (4 points for each question) Your CEU Center will you earned 1 of 2 of your required Self Reviews.

    Hope this helps! : ))

I purchased and received this email instruction, To access your self review, please log into your MyAHIMA acount at . Once logged in, click on the "Self-Reviews" link located under the "Education & Certification" section. Click "Take Now" to take the self-review. Once submitted, your self-review results will also be available here.

But I can not get the self review to print out. How do I get the self review to print out?

To access the 2018 Self Review:
    1.  Log into your MyAHIMA account.
    2.  In your profile under the Section "Education & Certification", click on "CEU Center".
    3.  Scroll to the bottom to the Self Review section and click on the red boxed section that reads "By completing this self review .....".
    4.  This takes you through the process to purchase for free and add to your Cart.
    5.  Click on the Cart and complete the purchase.
    6.  An email will be sent to you directing you to access the self review in your MyAHIMA account under the section "Education & Certification", under the "Self Reviews" link where you can click "Take Now" to take the 2018 self-review.

You cannot find it  under the AHIMA Store.

If we are to take 2 Self Reviews annually, are we just taking the same test again? Ex: I take the 2018 Self Review now.  By the end of the year, I take another (to fulfill my requirement). When do the self reviews change? and if they change once a year, aren't we taking the same test 2x?
Just curious as to what is expected and how this process is to function.

p.s. When finishing the self review, when is the CEUs expected to populate in one's MYAHIMA account?

Apologies again, first time self review reporter.

REVISED; I figured out that the self review CEUs populate immediately after taking the self review. Now,I just need assistance with the first part of my entry.

You only need to do one self-review a year, two in your two-year cycle.  If you did the 2018 one, you are good until next year J

I believe you need to do one self review per certification per year. I think the test are different based on your certification.
Since you have RHIT and CCS you should have the option to purchase both self reviews.

This is not working I cannot find the 2018 self review in the store & when I go to the CEU center is shows I can take the 2016 but then also shows that I have already taken the 2016 & 2018.  Have found the 2018 quiz but how do I purchase it & submit the CEU's for the 2018 exam?

To access and print out the self assessments you must first purchase them.  To do this log onto and click on My AHIMA.  Under education and certification select "self reviews".  This will allow you to "purchase" the self review (s).  Once you have purchased them they will be available to print out.  To do so 1)return the main AHIMA website; 2)click on at the very left in the red tool bar; 3) glide the mouse over to "certification" which is right next to the blue AHIMA logo with the red squiggle 4) this brings up a drop down menu, left double click on "recertification", the 3rd choice down; 5) this brings up a screen with "Quick Links" in gold on the right, which will show, what self assessments are available to you (providing you have purchased them); double click on the assessment/worksheet you want to print out.

I find it easier to print off the test and worksheet first, do at my leisure and then go online under My AHIMA, self reviews, and take the test and summit when ready.

Hope this helps.  I find the AHIMA site tricky at best to navigate.

I cannot find the 2018  CCS self review today - but did see it in the past- I have emailed AHIMA.
I re-read the last entry  and did  find the links-  I don't know why the  2018 self review is so hidden and not located on the same page as the other self reviews. .
