Wound/Peg Tube site infection

Please correct me if I am wrong.  Physician states "Pseudomonas growing from PEG tube site" he further states start antibiotics etc....  But he never says the magic words "Wound infection or PEG site infection or cellulitis."  I am assuming just like a UTI if he doesn't state UTI and only mentions positive urinalysis you still cannot code the UTI unless he states It even with antibiotic treatment.

    Thanks

Sharon, you are absolutely correct.  Physician needs to link the Pseudomonas to the G-tube with a diagnosis of infection or cellulitis, etc.  Physician needs to be queried for clarification.
