ROI - Billing for Third Party Requests

We are reviewing our process and fee schedule for third party requests and wanted to reach out to other facilities/ROI departments for some input on how you bill for these requests. Any information would be helpful, but here are some of the specific questions that we have:

    • Do  you bill a flat fee only, or processing fee plus per page fee
    • If you provide the records via email, do you charge differently vs. sending a CD or paper
    • Has anyone decided to stop charging for third party requests and provide records at no charge
Thank you in advance for your input - it is appreciated!

We bill per state statute which is a per page invoice. We charge a different fee for cds but if it is just email, we still charge the per page. Flat rate only for social security based on state statute.

We bill a flat fee plus page according to state regs.  We do not have the capability of doing CDs.  If we send electronically, we only bill the flat fee - no per page fee.
