Hello,
yes, we have staff that were interviewed and selected to be part of the 'special task' service line we created for all requests we deem need more special care/attention. These include for our legal department, abuse cases (because they can contain sensitive records) insurance requests that we don't charge for, and requests asking for DRS items. This way, there is limited staff having to learn these extra steps and we can better keep track that the right information is sent.
we also have ROI specialist (entry level), ROI senior specialist, & ROI Sr Spec-special task.

Subject: ROI position for risk and legal requests
Our HIM Department wants to pursue creating a separate ROI position that will specifically handle legal requests and risk management requests. These requests tend to be the most complicated, require critical thinking skills and considerable amount of time. The new position would require an associates or RHIT or bachelors/RHIA preferred. Our current ROI clerk job description only requires a GED or high school diploma.
Has anyone created a specific ROI position to handle these types of requests or require that this position have an Associates or be credentialed or change their current job descriptions to require a degree/credentials ?
