    Hi Privacy & Security Community,

I've come across a physician signature stamp requiring destruction. Do you know if there are guidelines to rendering it unusable; i.e. should I obtain a certificate of destruction or can I destroy and dispose of it myself? I appreciate all guidance and references as I haven't been able to come across anything specific in my research.

    Thank you!

Sarah,  I would think you could just use a scissors or knife blade to render the "signature" invalid.  Then I would toss.   If you feel you need to keep a record of it, you could do a certificate of destruction.   I have never really seen this question come up before.  Anything that would "mar" the actual signature should work.
