HIPAA doesn't require an authorization to be notarized. HIPAA does however require an expiring date or event be listed. So if no such date or event is included in the authorization I would say the authorization is invalid and cannot be relied upon.

I have an autorization from 2017 that doesnt have an end date/event but the notary commission stamp expired in 2019 - am I to assume that this is still a valid auth?
