I'm looking for some guidance, I took a new role recently at a small facility that has an HIM department but no real policies in place. I have created some along the way but can't truly remember all the policies that should be in place. Any suggestions on where to find some information or where to even start?
You may also start by reviewing the accreditation standards for which ever organization they use, CMS regulations and state regulations.
Are you also considered the Privacy Officer? That brings in a lot more to consider.
