I was just wondering if anyone is using electronic death certificates and would be willing to share their process.  Our state has just begun to use them so I am curious how others have made the switch.

The State of Alabama is requiring Hospitals to provide death certificates electronically. The Funeral Homes and Hospitals were notified in November 2019 of the change. The date for go live was January 1, 2020. This gave the medical staff time to set up in the system. Occasionally we will have a ER physician who has just been privileged that will need to sign up at the last moment due to a death in the ER. The State has notified everyone that  a paper death certificate can take up to 8 weeks to complete.
