    Hello everyone,

I am an HIM professional with over about 18 years of experience with Coding, Compliance, and ICD-10 Auditing for several vendors, most recently, Humana.

I would like to further my career with Masters Degree, and I found the MS of Health Care Law to be very interesting.

However, I would like to know if anyone in my profession is either in the process of obtaining this degree, or has graduated and is now working.  I did ask the Grad School counselors about career opportunities after graduation, and they sited opportunities such as a legal consultant, working for a malpractice firm aside a lawyer, and other opportunities I cannot completely remember right now.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any input to this degree.  Is this something worth pursuing, or is there a better option out there for someone with my background.

Thank you all, and have a good day!

I would be interested in hearing about this as well!

Are you looking into a particular school?

    Hi Ashley!

Yes, I am looking at 2 schools.  Both are 100% online.  1.  University of Oklahoma, and 2.  Seton Hall University.

Both universities shared a lot of useful information, and both were very friendly.  They told me that they would help with finding financial aid, as well.

There are more universities that are 100% online.  I've been told this is a growing field.  They told me of some career paths, and I also believe that Oklahoma offered me the opportunity to speak to a student or recent graduate.

I hope I answered any questions you may have.  Please feel free to contact me again if you have any other questions.

I feel like this path would be very beneficial in understanding privacy.  I often find myself needing more "legal guidance" with legal jargon and assessing risk with breach reporting.
