We're going to update our Sepsis protocols and I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction for CMS guidelines/requirements, as well as some examples.  Sepsis is going to be the first major "push" that I'm involved in since I've graduated and been hired, so I'd like to ensure that I'm gathering as much information as I can.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

I would be very interested in this information as well.  We are implementing a few new protocols and clinical pathways for CHF, COPD, and Sepsis.

    Hi Kari,

I believe this question was addressed by Don H Crevie, RHIT in the Health Information Technologies and Processes Community under the same subject.

I would suggest the QualityNet site.  QualityNet provides healthcare quality improvement news, resources and data reporting tools and applications used by healthcare providers and others.  The information under the Hospital Inpatient - Specification Manual provides measurement information, standards and algorithms for Sepsis (Severe and Shock).
