AHIMA's Coding Basics Course: Two Questions

    Hello,

    1. Does AHIMA offer other payment options besides self-pay (i.e. Financial Aid) ?

    2. I did not make efforts to keep up with changes when we converted from ICD-9 to ICD-10, because coding I did not have an interest in coding at the time; I'm beginning to take a strong interest in coding now. Please recommend best options for a person like me who's been out of school for a while, but needs to get caught up / refresh their coding skills from ICD-9 to ICD-10.

Thank you in advance for your response.   :)

    Hi Katherine,

    1. AHIMA does not offer financial aid. All courses must be paid for in full.
    2. There are a few options to learn ICD-10-CM/PCS.

After you've had some experience coding in ICD-10-CM/PCS, I'd suggest the next step would be to attend an ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer Academy. These will be launched on our website soon and you will see the first available meeting in October in Chicago or a virtual option to attend. This training will provide more advanced level training in the code sets.
