In the AHIMA E-Alert for July 11, 2019, the Thought Leadership Roundtables on CDI and Health Data Integrity are trying to change the title of Clinical Documentation Improvement to Clinical Documentation Integrity.  The words are not synonymous.  On a good note, they have added a statement that the CDI professional does not need to have a clinical licensure to do the job, so this is promising.

Now is the time for HIM professionals to let our voices be heard.  I believe there needs to be some language added to reflect the HIM profession credentials of RHIA or RHIT or CCS or CCS-P.

In the E-Alert under the AHIMA News and Announcements, you will find the title Member Comment Opportunity on CDI and Health Data Integrity with a link to make your comments.

    Thank you,
